Every time feels like the first time
The sweaty palms, the nervousness, repeating calming mantras to yourself. Each ceremony is unique, but the celebrant - me - always has a mix of excitement and nervousness every time!
Make sure the family like your ceremony at least a week ahead
Last minute changes are to be avoided! Timing is everything and you need to fit it all in and make sure everyone knows their part ahead of the day.
Check before you leave home you have the script with you
A recurring nightmare for celebrants is to arrive in plenty of time and then the dawning realisation that your beautifully crafted script is in the kitchen, besides your half eaten bit of toast and the washing up you've promised to do when you get home.
Remember - everyone wants you to be good!
The family and guests are looking forward to what you have to say. It's not an interview.
Relax & Enjoy it!
It will be over before you know it and you will have left an impression on everyone there. Try not to fall over on the way out!
